Close to Brick Lane and the tube, but the bathroom plumbing needs urgent attention Positive: The property was well located for our work and close to the restaurants of Brick Lane and the tube. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The living area was nice, with a big corner sofa and a table and chairs, and it was good to have access to the communal gardens during the very hot weather. The host met us in person to hand over the keys, and communication was efficient, though we had to prompt them to provide check in instructions the day before arrival: it would have been good to have known at the point of booking that we'd need to message them an hour prior to arrival Negative: We had to ask the owner to provide a bath mat and hand towel for the bathroom (we didn't spot they were missing at check in and so only discovered this the following morning). The plumbing in the bathroom was haphazard: the hose for the shower wasn't tightly fixed to the bath mixer tap, so it leaked, and there was a fault with the cold water supply. You needed to run the basin tap to get cold water into the shower feed. It didn't seem to be possible to have a bath, as the knob switching between bath and shower function was stuck on for the shower. The hot water was scalding, and could be a risk for children. Because the flat is on the ground floor, and the windows that open are single pane and full height, we didn't feel safe leaving them open overnight during the very hot weather we were experiencing (the garden is communal and the front of the property is open to the communal courtyard. This wouldn't have mattered if there had been a fan in each bedroom; as it was, the flat was very stuffy overnight.
